While working as a lead photographer with the Department of Defense, I photographed hundreds of main-stage speakers and bureaucratic headshots. And I saw how quickly those images were consumed on social media and then forgotten.
With only one chance to get the perfect shot, you need a photographer you trust to document your day with decorum.
But just because my approach is respectful doesn't mean I'm stuffy!

Coming from a big family, and now being married with children, I understand there are many relationships that need to be respected and considered on a wedding day.
So, I make sure to include lots of candid and posed photos with your V.I.P.'s.

MEET KATIE LEWIS
It may sound like I have a lot of experience photographing hundreds of events and thousands of portraits... That's because I do! With over fifteen years behind the camera, I’ve been fortunate enough to capture historic moments (both personal and professional!) throughout my career.
After graduating from George Washington University with a Fine Arts degree in photography and art history in 2008, I worked as a Lead Staff Photographer for the Department of Defense. There, I spent more than eleven years perfecting my craft, combining my attention to detail with the creativity needed to capture those truly iconic moments.
But as life changes, so do perspectives. After becoming a wife and mother to three, my focus shifted towards the beauty of intimacy and connection. I believe if you’ve found love in this world, it deserves to be honored and celebrated. And creative photography is an incredible way to do just that.
